2015 Volkswagen 2.0 TDI Oil Change Guide
Proper oil maintenance is essential for protecting the turbocharger, internal engine components, and diesel particulate filter in a Volkswagen TDI. This guide applies to compatible 2015 Volkswagen Golf TDI, Golf SportWagen TDI, Jetta TDI, Beetle TDI, and Passat TDI models equipped with CRUA or CVCA 2.0-liter diesel engines.

Oil Change Procedure
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and allow the engine to warm slightly.
- Switch off the engine and engage the parking brake.
- Safely raise and support the vehicle if access underneath is required.
- Remove the lower engine cover where equipped.
- Position the drain pan beneath the oil pan.
- Remove the drain plug and allow the used oil to drain completely.
- Remove the oil filter housing cap and old cartridge filter.
- Remove the used filter housing seals.
- Lightly coat the new seals with fresh oil and install them in their correct grooves.
- Install the new Hengst cartridge filter.
- Reinstall the oil filter housing cap and tighten it to the manufacturer’s specification.
- Install the new drain plug and sealing washer.
- Add fresh engine oil gradually.
- Start the engine briefly and inspect the filter housing and drain plug for leaks.
- Switch off the engine and wait several minutes.
- Check the oil level and add oil only as necessary.
- Reinstall the lower engine cover.
- Reset the oil service reminder.
Should All Six Liters Be Added?
Not automatically. The kit supplies enough oil for its compatible applications, but the final service quantity may vary slightly.
Fill the engine gradually and verify the level using the procedure specified for the vehicle. Overfilling can cause excessive crankcase pressure, oil aeration, or emissions-system problems.
Protecting the Diesel Particulate Filter
The low-SAPS formulation of Top Tec 4200 helps limit ash accumulation inside the DPF. However, the correct oil cannot prevent problems caused by repeated interrupted regenerations or constant short-distance driving.
Allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature regularly and address DPF, glow-plug, injector, or emissions-system warnings promptly.
