Replacing the RT-1194 thermostat:
Wait for the engine to cool completely — never open the cooling system on a hot engine.
Drain the coolant from the radiator drain tap into a clean container and reuse it.
Locate the thermostat housing on the engine — follow the upper radiator hose to reach the engine.
Unscrew the housing bolts and lift the housing off the thermostat.
Remove the old thermostat and gasket — thoroughly clean the contact surfaces.
Install the new RT-1194 thermostat in the correct direction (swing valve facing upwards).
Install a new gasket and reinstall the housing.
