Required Engine Oil

Oil Change Procedure

  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface.
  2. Allow the engine to warm slightly, then switch it off.
  3. Engage the parking brake and safely raise the vehicle if required.
  4. Remove the lower engine cover where equipped.
  5. Position a drain pan beneath the engine oil pan.
  6. Carefully remove the drain plug.
  7. Allow the used engine oil to drain completely.
  8. Remove the oil filter housing cap and used cartridge filter.
  9. Remove the old filter housing O-ring.
  10. Lightly lubricate the new O-ring with fresh engine oil.
  11. Install the new filter and O-ring in their correct positions.
  12. Tighten the filter housing cap to the manufacturer’s specification.
  13. Install the replacement drain plug and sealing washer.
  14. Add approximately five liters of fresh engine oil.
  15. Start the engine briefly and inspect for leaks.
  16. Switch off the engine and wait several minutes.
  17. Check the oil level and add oil gradually as required.
  18. Reinstall the lower engine cover and reset the service reminder.

Should All Six Liters Be Added?

No. The kit supplies six liters to cover the compatible applications, but actual refill capacity depends on the engine and vehicle.

Start with approximately five liters, then check the level and add oil gradually. Overfilling can cause oil aeration, excessive crankcase pressure, leakage, and catalytic-converter damage.

Oil Filter Compatibility

The included Hengst E19H D83 cartridge filter corresponds to Volkswagen reference 071115562C. This filter was used across several Volkswagen engines, so the filter number alone does not prove that the complete kit is suitable.

The vehicle must also require the oil specification and quantity supplied with the kit.

Important Diesel Warning

Some diesel applications also use a related 071115562C filter. However, Liqui Moly Leichtlauf High Tech 5W-40 is not intended for diesel vehicles equipped with a DPF that require VW 507 00 low-SAPS oil.

Always confirm the required specification before servicing a diesel vehicle.
